I will try to work with the Missouri legislature to bring about the goals set forth above. But I believe the Republican controlled legislature is more responsive to corporate lobbyists than to the people, and doesn't represent very well what people want. So if it won't work with me on those issues, I will attempt to overrule the legislature by circulating citizen initiative petitions for statutes or constitutional amendments to bring about the goals set forth above. And I believe that when the legislature sees progress on the initiative petitions, they will be willing to meet us half-way to implement them. Moreover, most of those issues are non-ideological and should cut across party lines, so that should help me gather support for them.
